El Mirador, Guatemala
This Bourbon varietal comes from the Huehuetenango region of Guatemala. In this area, farmers typically harvest when coffee cherries are a red to grape color. Due to the low levels of rainfall, farmers are able to harvest when coffee ripening is more uniform across the farm — this is what leads to the pronounced fruit flavors in coffees from this region, and El Mirador is no exception.
This coffee boasts a rich and full-bodied mouthfeel with deep notes of blackberry and cherry, followed by a sweet maple finish. We love this coffee on espresso, but it is also beautifully rich on filter.
